Mexican Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk works best)
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • â…› teaspoon salt (just a pinch)
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the cream, milk, almond extract, espresso powder, cinnamon, and salt. Place over medium heat, and bring to a light boil
  • Turn off the heat, and add in the chocolate. Let this sit for one minute, then whisk until smooth
  • Serve warm or cool, or refrigerate for later. To make the sauce pourable again, reheat 15 seconds at a time in the microwave, stirring in-between until pourable
