Ingredients
- 1 ¾ pounds chicken wings (approximately 12 wings)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons tamari (or soy sauce)
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 ½ teaspoons Tabasco (or other hot sauce. More may be needed)
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer, without adding any oil, in a cold, 12-inch skillet. Sprinkle the wings with salt. Turn the heat to high, and cook uncovered, for 10 minutes. Shake the pan occasionally, so the wings don’t stick. If they do, just un-stick them with a metal spatula
- While the wings are cooking, combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl, and set aside
- Turn the chicken wings over. They’ll be browned on the cooked side. Cover the skillet, and reduce the heat to medium-low, for 10-12 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through
- Using the lid to hold the wings, pour off the excess fat, if there is any. Return the pan to the burner, and increase the heat to high. Pour the sauce over the wings, turning to completely coat them in the sauce. Cook until the sauce has reduced enough so the wings are coated like a glaze, for 2-3 minutes
- Serve immediately, with teriyaki sauce and/or bleu cheese dressing (see links below)
