Shrimp Burgers
This simple shrimp burger has no fillers or eggs. The secret to holding it together? Just shrimp. And a bonus: it's gluten freee!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined, cut into thirds)
  • 2 tablespoons chives (finely sliced. Or other herbs, )
  • ½ teaspoon sweet paprika
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • salt
  • 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil (or other neutral high-heat oil, such as avocado or canola)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • lettuce (4 leaves)
  • 1 tomato (sliced)

Instructions

  • In a food processor, pulse the shrimp a few times, just until finely chopped and a coarse paste is form. Transfer to a large bowl and add the chive and sweet and smoked paprikas. Sprinkle with salt, and mix it well
  • Moisten your hands with water, then form the mixture into 4 patties
  • Heat a large skillet (or grill) over a medium-high heat. When it’s heated, lightly oil the skillet or grates. Cook the burgers until lightly browned and just cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes per side. The internal temperature should be at least 135°F
  • Serve with lettuce, tomato, pickle slices, and remoulade or tartar sauce
