Ingredients

  • 2 15.5 oz canned navy beans (or Great Northern, and/or cannelini beans, drained and rinsed)
  • ½ cup molasses (unsulphured, not blackstrap)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup mustard
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°
  •  Drain and rinse the beans, and set aside
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, onion powder, salt and pepper. Gently stir in the beans. Transfer this to a baking dish or a Dutch oven  
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the liquid reduces and thickens. Stir halfway through the cooking time
